Man of La Mancha, a Tony Award-Winning Musical by Dale Wasserman, based on Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, featuring music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. Set during the Spanish Inquisition, it tells the story of Cervantes, who, while imprisoned, stages a play-within-a-play about an idealistic Knight Don Quixote and his squire Sancho Panza. The musical celebrates imagination and idealism, exploring the line between reality and illusion through Quixote’s quest to right wrongs.
